Our Technology

Auburn's TRIBO.series products utilize proven triboelectric technology, invented by Auburn nearly twenty-five years ago. The technology is EPA tested and recognized for MACT and CAM compliance. Products range from basic bag leak detection to plant-wide, networked monitoring systems that consolidate more than 2000 points at one PC.

An Introduction to Triboelectric Measurement

As dust particles collide with a probe, they generate a charge transfer. This is referred to as frictional electrification. Tribo.series products detect the signal created by the changes in particulate concentration, as in the onset of a bag leak, and activate operational functions such as alarms, relays and/or data logs. Unlike optical devices that rely on clean, aligned lenses and the indirect measurement of light transmission, Tribo.series products are a virtually maintenance-free, direct method of bag leak detection. Auburn devices can detect baseline signals as low as 0.005 mg/m3 in dust collector emissions.
